SOLITARY HERON

Alone staring into nothingness. Infinity or intimacy, river flowing beneath.

Completely calm; no movement, feathers still.
What thoughts pass through its mind?

Herons seem such lonely beings. Never seen in company, all alone and solitary.

To stare at such stillness calms the heart, but ignites imagination.

Can such stillness move to flight? seemingly a statue, moving not.

Time passes a glimmer not of heavens above. Be it resting, awaiting fish, no sign of urgency, remains so calm.

Passing time, signal to fly.

Power and mission, time combined.

Perhaps returning to a friend or partner. Even above feathers move not, wings wide in determination.

A lonely being direction known. So grey unlike a swan, but grace perceived as one.

A joy to behold, Nature's silent wonder. A heron basks in timeless infinity.

Once again to partake as stillness one.
